Sid Meier's Gettysburg is the top of the peak in my opinion, a standard tough to achieve, but this game comes very close to acheiving Mr. Meier's greatness. The game would be greatly enhanced by multiplayer and replay, but it doesn't take away from a very good game and a fine job by the develpers. Speaking of Gettysburg, it’s impossible to list off the best American Civil War games without mentioning a game about Gettysburg at least once. Gettysburg marked the high-water mark of the Confederacy during the war, and The Tide Turns is a beautiful display of well, how the tide turned. The History Channel turned out a number of games based on significant battles from history, including Civil War: Secret Missions and Great Battles of Rome, but unfortunately none of them are really up to scratch. This one is a turn-based strategy game but you're better off with Sid Meier's Gettysburg if you want to explore the period and should. Truly the best civil war game ever. Athanasius 2017-02-12 -4 points Imho the best adaptation of ACW ever - its complexity is just right, not as simplistic as 'Ultimate General: Gettysburg' and not as complicated as the enormous 'Scourge of War: Gettysburg', but something in between.

Sid Meier`s Gettysburg! is a real-time Tactics computer game designed by Sid Meier.The game allows the player to control either the Confederate or Union troops during the Battle of Gettysburg in the American Civil WAR. It can be played as a single scenario, or as a campaign of linked scenarios, either recounting the original history or exploring alternate possibilities.This demo allows you to play as the Yankees in three scenarios, along with the full set of tutorials. The demo also contains full multiplayer functionality, enabling you to play multiplayer matches for one week after the first multiplayer game you try.Please note that the demo contains 8-bit sounds and no cut scenes in order to save space; the higher quality sounds and cool cut scenes are contained in the full product.
